ARISS le 1 septembre 2014 à SIEGBURG GERMANY

ARISS contact planned with Gymnasium Siegburg, Germany

An ARISS educational radio contact is planned with Gymnasium Siegburg, Germany. The event is scheduled Monday September 1st, 2014 at 13.12.45 UTC, which is 15.12.54 CEST. It will be a direct contact, operated by DN6KW.

Downlink signals will be audible in Europe on 145.800 MHz narrowband FM.

The Ham Video transmitter will possibly be tested during this contact.

School presentation:

Our school is a whole-day (8 AM - 4 PM) high school and college (1,000 students, 100 staff) that prepares students for the final examination after 8 years studies. The school, situated close to the centre of Siegburg, sits in the middle of a park like campus.
We teach the languages traditionally taught in Germany, and alongside offer our students ABIBAC, a bi-lingual language curriculum, which opens the possibility of getting the French Baccalaureate, in addition to the German Abitur. These students acquire admission to not only German, but also to French universities. Some subjects are also taught in English.

Both our world and our society and, thus, education, are subject to constant change.
Three important pillars, however, are considered to be permanent and accordingly, make Gymnasium Siegburg Alleestraße a reliable partner:
- Educational and academic qualities and commitment to ethical values
- Integration of all groups and elements that constitute school life
- Focus on health and wellbeing of students and staff

In addition to our foreign language profile we encourage and support musically interested students in special classes in which it is obligatory for all members to play an instrument. Students may later opt for music as their major subject.
A very wide range of natural sciences completes our school profile.

For several years now our school has been in contact with the University of Bonn working on a project in space science and remote sensing, sponsored by DLR (German Aerospace Centre) and BMWi (Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology). The project allows our junior and senior students to participate in an analysis of data as well as in a satellite surveying remote sensing with reference to scientific problems.
For this reason, our school community is very pleased and proud to have been selected for the live call in September with Dr. Alexander Gerst on the ISS.

The space conversation will be conducted in German.

Students will ask as many of following questions as time allows:

1. Leonie (11): Wie fühlt sich Schwerelosigkeit an? Können Sie das erklären?
2. Leon (11): Wie war Ihr erster Weltraumspaziergang?
4. Sara-Marie (15): Was macht Ihnen am meisten Spaß an Ihrer Mission?
6. Quock: Was tun Sie in Ihrer Freizeit?
7. Max (16): Was haben Sie als persönlichen Gegenstand mitgenommen?
13. Paul (14): Was ist das größte Risiko, was während des Fluges passieren kann?
14. This (14): Gab es bereits einmal einen Not- oder Krankheitsfall?
15. Caronlin (15): Wie viel Strom verbraucht die ISS?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.

LANCEMENT SOYOUZ ANOMALIE D'INJECTION DES SATELLITES 5 et 6 de la CONSTELLATION GALILEO

Vue CNES
Informations au 23 août 2014 :

http://www.esa.int/fre/ESA_in_your_country/Belgium_-_Francais/Lancement_Soyouz_anomalie_d_injection_des_satellites_Galileo

Galileo satellites experience orbital injection anomaly
on Soyuz launch Initial report

On August 22, 2014, at 9:27 am local time in French Guiana, a Soyuz ST rocket lifted off with the first two satellites in the Galileo constellation.
The liftoff and first part of the mission proceeded nominally, leading to release of the satellites according to the planned timetable, and reception of signals from the satellites. It was only a certain time after the separation of the satellites that the ongoing analysis of the data provided by the telemetry stations operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the French space agency CNES showed that the satellites were not in the expected orbit.

The targeted orbit was circular, inclined at 55 degrees with a semi major axis of 29,900 kilometers. The satellites are now in an elliptical orbit, with excentricity of 0.23, a semi major axis of 26,200 km and inclined at 49.8 degrees.

Both the Fregat upper stage and the two satellites are in a stable condition and position that entails absolutely no risk for people on the ground. The residual propellants on the Fregat stage have been purged and the stage was depressurized normally. According to the initial analyses, an anomaly is thought to have occurred during the flight phase involving the Fregat upper stage, causing the satellites to be injected into a noncompliant orbit.

Studies and data analyses are continuing in Kourou, French Guiana, and at Arianespace headquarters in Evry, near Paris, under the direction of Stéphane Israël, Chairman and CEO of Arianespace, in conjunction with the Russian partners in the Soyuz in French Guiana program (Russian space agency Roscomos and the manufacturers RKTs-Progress and NPO Lavotchkine), as well as Arianespace's customer ESA and its industrial partners, to determine the scope of the anomaly and its impact on the mission. "Our aim is of course to fully understand this anomaly," said Stéphane Israël, Chairman and CEO of Arianespace. "Everybody at Arianespace is totally focused on meeting this objective. Starting Monday, Arianespace, in association with ESA and the European Commission, will designate an independent inquiry board to determine the exact causes of this anomaly and to draw conclusions and develop corrective actions that will allow us to resume launches of Soyuz from the Guiana Space Center (CSG) in complete safety and as quickly as possible. The board will coordinate its work with Russian partners in the Soyuz at CSG program. Arianespace is determined to help meet the European Union's goals for the Galileo program without undue delay. We would like to thank ESA, the European Commission and CNES for the very productive discussions since becoming aware of the occurrence of the anomaly. While it is too early to determine the exact causes, we would like to offer our sincere excuses to ESA and the European Commission for this orbital injection that did not meet expectations."

ENCORE DES QSL DEROBEES ?

Voici (encore) quelques mots malheureux qui reflètent l'état d'esprit actuel de certains "radioamateurs" :

Je cite :

"Bonjour,

Descendre jusque :   dom.ipc.plugins.enabled

ARISS contact planned with ESA Space Camp, Fleetwood, UK

An ARISS educational radio contact is planned with ESA Space Camp, Rossall School, Fleetwood, UK.
The event is scheduled Tuesday July 29 at 14:01:13 UTC . It will be a telebridge contact operated by W6SRJ in California.

A video from the event will be webcast at:

The contact will be broadcast on EchoLink AMSAT (node 101 377) and JK1ZRW (node 277 208) Conference servers, as well as on IRLP Discovery Reflector 9010.

This annual camp is organized by the ESA Space Camp Committee takes place in a different European country each summer for 2 weeks. This year the camp takes place between 27 July and 10 August where 185 young space explorers aged 8 to 17 will meet each other in the UK at Rossall School. The children come from the following ESA establishments (UK, France, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands and Germany).
This will be the 20th Space Camp organised by ESA. This year the children will also be involved in celebrating this milestone with marking 50 years of ESA. Children, their parents and educators from the area will join the ESA campers on this special celebration day.
Rossall is a boarding school situated on a beautiful 160-acre site, there is plenty of room for extensive sports and cultural facilities, including a swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, as well as a fitness room and a climbing wall.

The ESC 2014 programme will feature a balanced mix of sports such as flag rugby, lifeguarding, kayaking and martial arts. The theme for camp will be ‘Reach for the Stars!’ Well-equipped IT labs, classrooms and an on-site planetarium will be instrumental in setting up a space education programme that will keep the children motivated with new and exciting hands-on activities and educational tasks involving space-related themes, as well as learning about the culture of the host country.

As with all ESA Space Camps, there will be specific emphasis placed on socialisation and respect among the participants. We hope to make the camp a really unique experience for juniors and teenagers who are in the process of becoming citizens of a multicultural society.
This ARISS contact will mark a highlight in the space education programme as children will be learning about many aspects related to man’s endeavours to reach for the stars!

Students will ask as many of following questions as time allows:
1. Zachary (12): What has been your biggest challenge since being in space?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating countries.

ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.
