Students
from the Primary and Junior High Schools Complex in Brzeznica are
interested in Science, mainly Physics. They attend many additional
lessons and educational projects connected with Mathematics, Physics,
Astronomy, amateur radio communications and satellite communications.
They participate in educational trips and tours. Teachers prepare
lessons for students interested in astronomy. The school organizes
additional activities with the support of the European Union, such as
special classes involving astronomical sky observation.
Moreover,
the school prepared a series of activities related to astronautics:
amateur radio communications with the ISS, astronomy classes and
observation of the passing Space Station, art competitions related to
the cosmos and the space station, activities for senior students
concerning the life of astronauts aboard the space station.
Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:
1. Adrian (14): Do you like to be an astronaut?
2. Bartek(14): How long does it take to go into orbit?
3. Claudia(14): How do you wash in space?
4. Pauline(14): What impact does your 6 months stay on board have on your bones?
5. Gabrielle(14): Did you dream about flying into space when you were a child?
6. Jacob(14): Where do you feel better, in space or on Earth?
7. Conrad(14): Do you miss your family when you are in space?
8. Camil(14): Are you happy in space?
9. Claudia(14): What is the temperature inside and outside the space station?
10. Tom(15): How do you celebrate Christmas on board?
11. Adrian(14): How did you feel during your flight into space?
12. Bartek(14): What studies do you have to accomplish to become an astronaut?
13. Claudia(14): What's the temperature of boiling and frezing water in space?
14. Pauline(14): What do you see through the window of your spaceship?
15. Gabrielle(14): Do you have a doctor in the spaceship?
16. Jacob(14): Can plants grow on the space station - if so what is growing at the moment?
ARISS
is an international educational outreach program partnering the
participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES,
JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating
countries.
ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience
the excitement of Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers
onboard the International Space Station. Teachers, parents and
communities see, first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS
can energize youngsters' interest in science, technology and learning.
